PDO Thread Lift

 A PDO Thread is a type of treatment used in cosmetic procedures to lift and tighten sagging skin tissues. It involves inserting fine, absorbable polydioxanone threads (similar to those used in medical suturing) into the subcutaneous layer of the skin using small, side-holed needles (blunt at the front). 

Once in place, these threads create a supportive structure that immediately lifts the skin. Over time, they also stimulate collagen production, which helps improve skin texture, elasticity, and firmness. 

The threads gradually dissolve over several months, but the beneficial effects on the skin can last much longer. This procedure is minimally invasive and can provide a more youthful appearance without surgery. 

The procedure generally takes around 3 hours or less, including local anaesthetic. The end result is our goal, not the hours spent, which is why we don't rush the procedure. The clinician will work slowly, methodically and carefully. 

We use PDO threads imported directly from Korea, where the Thread Lift was invented and has continued t be innovated. This allows us to source a much wider range of lengths, thicknesses and patterns on the threads themselves, which we then select bespoke for each procedure depending on the clients anatomy.

Absolutely. We are not adding volume like with dermal fillers, we are simply repositioning the volume which is already there. Whether that's lifting your cheeks, tightening your jawline or raising jowls, the results are usually always natural. People would look at you and think you were well rested, rather than "done".

Some clinics advertise PDO Thread Lifts as lasting 2-5 years. However, we recommend Threads as an annual treatment.  The Threads are designed to dissolve after 6 months or so, but the remaining scar tissue holds the tissues in place so they only slowly return to their previous position.

Yes, however, it's absolutely worth noting that Thread Lifts are more invasive than Btox and Dermal Fillers. The risks of infection or complication are higher than the aforementioned treatments, but lower than those associated with a surgical Face Lift.

Thread Lifts are often praised by our clients as having less down-time and lower risks than a surgical Face Lift. 

We need you to consistently wear your compression garment for at least 2-3 days. Then, try to wear it whenever you're at home or sleeping at the minimum. The more you can wear it in the first month, the better your results will be. It's natural for 5-15% of the lift created during the procedure to fade as the threads "get comfortable", but with out the compression garment, more of a drop can be noticed. 

Swelling and bruising is common. Some clients experience no bruising at all, but a larger portion do notice  a little swelling around their cheeks caused by the inflammation. This goes down naturally in 1-4 weeks, and generally doesn't effect your day to day life.

Realistically, you could most likely have a Thread Lift and be at work 3-4 days later.
